What's That Song in the DeBeers Diamond Commercial?

'Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop,' by Landon Pigg

Perhaps you've had that feeling of unknowingly falling for someone. If you have, then this DeBeers "Diamonds Are Forever" commercial really hits home. A young man and woman driving along a city street have nothing to say, because Landon Pigg's music says it for them: "I think quite possibly, maybe I'm falling for you/Yes there's a chance that I've fallen quite hard over you." While some watchers are consumed by the lyrics of the "Coffee Shop,' Pigg seems to have a different opinion. He told Spinner, "It's great getting to hear a song against such beautiful cinematography. Even if your TV was on mute, you would still be satisfied."

'Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop' has brought Pigg digital success, selling more than 13,000 downloads in its first week available on iTunes -- largely due to its exposure in the ad. Pigg's music has also been featured in television shows including ABC's hit medical drama 'Grey's Anatomy.'

Being born and raised in Nashville, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter relies heavily on life experiences for the content of his music, and he attributes his talents to his parents -- his father introduced informal music lessons into Pigg's life during his teens, and his mother nourished his poetic side. Starting out performing in local coffee shops, Pigg no longer heads to the caffeine-driven establishments to spread his music, saying it's too emotional to have an espresso machine running at the climax of his songs.

Yes the song is lovely and the idea is very romantic. But do you even have that someone special to give diamonds too? No? www.emarital.com can help.

Love the commercial. Love, love, love the song. Now, here's the strange part (or at least it is probably strange to some people.) The song makes me think of my poodle. What can I say, she's 12, and she's my sweet baby girl.

Don--The song that Taco Bell uses is an old one. It is from the great Joe Jackson and the song is "One More Time" You might know his song "Is she really going out with him" a little bit better. I knew I knew the song and it was driving me crazy. Then I remembered when I first heard it--my camp bunk in 1982!

    J. Campbell -
Is the "Dandelions" one with "What Are You Doing The Rest of Your Life?" That's sung by the late, great Dusty Springfield. She recorded it about 40 years ago. That song gives me goosebumps when I hear it. Dusty had a rough life that ended way to soon.

Nice commercial from a cartel that is a most unethical entity. Ever try to resell that "priceless"
